HOW CAN INDIVIDUALS AND PARTIES INFLUENCE INTERNATIONAL POLITICS AND THE STATE DIRECTION

A question might be raised; how can individuals influence world politics and how can parties influence

the states direction, especially as such direction is deep – rooted and has existed for centuries?

The answer: when individuals or parties pursue the political actions and understand international

politics; they should not do so for rational pleasure, intellectual luxury or for the purpose of education

and increasing knowledge. Rather they should follow it in order to care for the worlds affairs and in

order to decide how to influence the world.

In other words, they do it in order to be politicians. Far, be it from the politician that he seeks the

rational pleasure, even if he is of greatest intellect. And far be it from him to incline to the intellectual

luxury even if he is of the deepest thinker.

So the politician follows up (pursues) politics and understands the international situation and the internal

position and pursues the international politics solely because he is a politician, not because he is an

intellectual or a thinker. Being a politician means that he strives to care for the world’s affairs, i.e. to

influence international politics.

This is on one hand. On the other hand, a politician does not work while viewing himself as an

individual, he functions as part of the Ummah, and as part of an entity i.e. in a state. Even though he is

not one of those who decides upon or executes the states policies. He is eager to be one of them and

accounts those who do so.

Consequently, he will have an international influence even if he remains an individual with no decision

making or executive responsibilities. If he acted as such, he will have an influence, because the state

which he belongs to, influences the world through people like him. He may also together with people

like him, strive to make the state influence international politics.

This will lead to what is called the fruits of political concepts, namely making the state influence

international politics and the international situation by developing politically aware individuals who

comprehend the political actions that take place in the world, especially by the superpowers.

Consequently, the first step towards influencing international politics and the international situation is to

crystallize the political the political concepts. The first obstacle is to motivate individuals to pursue

political actions and understand international politics i.e. to create politicians of international politics. As a result the state will naturally influence the international political situation. This manifests the level

of importance that political concepts have and how valuable they are.

It must be known, however that the state will not be present internationally, unless and until it maintains

relations with other state. The individual in a society will not be present in his society unless and until he

maintains relations with other individuals.

His status in society and among the people is according to these relations and according to his influence

on these relations amongst people.

Similarly, the states presence is established through its relations with other states. Its status is affected

positively or negatively in accordance with its relations with other states and its influence on

international relations.
