Nigeria officially went to the national polls on Saturday, 23 February 2019 after Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the initial date of Saturday, 16 February 2019 five hours to the scheduled time. After National polls, State polls will be conducted in March 2019. The national polls attracted 73 presidential candidates with a record of registered 82,344,107voters! The major presidential candidates were the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari (76 years old) –All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar (72 years old) –Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Muhammadu Buhari trounced Atiku Abubakar and was re-elected for the second term and declared the winner by INEC on Wednesday, 27 February 2019 2019. On the other hand, Atiku Abubakar rejected the results.
Nigeria a secular nation colonized by Britain from 1800 to 1960 and after its pseudo-independence it remained in civil strife with military régimes aligned to British and America engaging in coup d’états to ascend to power. A good instance is that of Olusegun Obasanjo, a pro-US agent ascended to power as Nigeria’s military ruler from 13 February 1976 to 1 October 1979. Muhammadu Buhari, as a pro-UK agent served as Nigeria’s military ruler from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985. Later on Olusegun Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar ascended to power democratically elected on a PDP ticket as president and deputy president respectively from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. Pro-US PDP remained in power during the reign of Olusegun (1999 – 2007), Umaru Musa (2007- 2010) and Goodluck Jonathan (2010 – 2015). Pro-UK Muhammadu Buhari ascended to power democratically (2015 – 2019) and was re-elected for a second term of four years commencing (2019 – 2023).
Nigeria is Africa’s 1st and the world’s 31 largest economy (GDP) by over $397,472 billion and with a population of over 180 million people. Nigeria’s youth population is third largest after India and China globally at with more than 90 million of its youthful population under the age of 18. Nigeria’s largest religious followers are Muslims mostly in the north of Nigeria then followed by Christians in the south of Nigeria. According to World Bank, Nigeria is one of the five countries in the world that contribute to 368 million people, which is a half of the total people living in extreme poverty in the world. Furthermore, World Bank declared that Nigeria would overtake India and become a country with the highest number of people living in extreme poverty! (theeastafrican.co.ke, 06/02/2019) Ironically, As per the latest report from Wealth-X, countries that are primed to produce new millionaires at the highest rate in the next five years in Africa number one is Nigeria! The above confirm that Nigeria’s 2019 Elections are perennial farce exercises championed by colonial agent rulers to use them as a rubber stamp and legitimization to ascend to power to secure both their personal and masters’ interests and ultimately entrench secular capitalism through exploiting and hoodwinking the gullible masses. Nigerians are languishing in extreme poverty, corruption, tribal clashes, western-instigated war on terrorism amongst other evils perpetrated by the ruling invalid secular capitalist ideology and its systems including exploitative economic system, social liberal system and democratic system. Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar are both western agents and Muslims but their Islam is that which conform to the western interpretation of Islam as Moderate Islam. Hence, they are both moderate Muslims who are religious tolerant and are competing against one another to ensure they guarantee secular freedoms: freedom of worship, freedom of ownership, freedom of expression and personal freedoms that are championed by their western masters led by America and her allies across the globe under the pretext of “furthering Democracy”. That is why Nigeria is globally known as the beacon of Democracy in Africa since 29 May 1999, the day Obasanjo took office as the first elected and civilian head of state in Nigeria after 16 years of military rule, is now commemorated as Democracy Day, a public holiday in Nigeria!
Nigeria and Africa in general is a continent blessed with abundant resources both mineral and fertile lands, which ought to have catapulted it to highest global scales of political and socio-economic development and prosperity. However, Nigeria and the African continent in general is reeling in squalor and dependent on foreign aid due to the vicious and evil hegemonic plundering launched by the Western colonialism! The colonialists have taken the continent hostage to date with repetitive elections to give power to human beings to legislate contrary to the commandments of the Creator to His creation!
The most urgent and radical step for Nigeria and Africa in general to take in realizing genuine Africa’s Renaissance is to embrace the Khilafah (Caliphate) Project as a substitute to the Western Colonialism that is the root cause of its miseries due to political-social-economical slavery. The Khilafah (Caliphate) established on the Prophet’s (saw) methodology and comprehensively executes the Shari’ah (Qur’an and Sunnah) under a just ruler the Khalifah (Caliph) whose concern is what pleases Allah (swt) and not the West and their invalid secular capitalists ideology and its systems. Under the Khilafah (Caliphate), Nigeria and Africa in general, with its vast resources, shall be secured and utilized for Africa and while the colonialists, with their multinationals, will be chased away completely. Therefore, the Khilafah (Caliphate) shall guarantee peace, tranquility, development and prosperity to humanity living in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large by the practical implementation of Ideological Islam and the systems emanating from it including Islamic social system, Islamic economic system, Islamic education system and Islamic ruling system amongst others.
