The Muslim Ummah continues to agonize and is about to despair due to continuous oppression and harassment she goes through. Such oppression emanating from pretexts such as “War on Terror”, “War on Radicalism” etc… has led the Muslim Ummah to feel the pain that even animals do not deserve to feel! These slogans are used to further the persecution against the Islamic Ummah.
In order to understand better and get the true picture of the reality it is prudent to ask what the meaning of these slogans are. As for what terrorism is, it has already been discussed exhaustively before. What is radicalism? Radicalism as far as political science is concerned is the driving force intended to change the society through revival means. (www.vocabulary.com). It also means to influence or to change the original basis (revolution) of something. Consequently, the term itself, on its own, does not derive a good or bad meaning of something, rather its usage together with other words is what will determine the goodness or badness of meaning of the intended thing. As for what has been the trend in the recent past, the term has been given a new definition by the security apparatus of the United States and Europe to mean that those who plan to bring a fundamental change from what is accustomed by the society that will result to violence and bloodshed. They made terrorism and radicalism synonymous to tarnish the image of those who want to revive the world. And since none is carrying a contrary ideology to the current ruling Capitalism that has destroyed the human environment be it political, economic, social, educational etc., except Muslims and their Islamic ideology that they truly believe in and call for its establishment in life as a substitute to Capitalism are the target. It is they who have been branded as radicals the same way they were branded as terrorists. This is not new as historically slander has been used whenever justification of oppression was sort. Kenya pretends to forget her history when British colonialists ruled the country and allocated fertile land among settlers while chasing away the indigenous owners driving them to the forest. When oppression persisted, locals stood against it in vigilante groups fighting for their rights and land, including the infamous Mau Mau which was the largest group that threatened the hegemony of the British imperialism here in Kenya. In order to fight the outfit, the British government resorted to casting of fear among the community by carrying out extra judicial killings, and this was done after declaring it a terror group! They did not stop there; those arrested by the British colonial army were taken to the head psychiatrist, J.C. Carothers, who purported after ‘medical examination’ that he has scientific evidence that Mau Mau’s rebellion against the British is not a political one but rather psychotic one! Indeed if you want to kill a canine call it a stray one!
Therefore we see that radicalism is a veil employed directly targeting every Muslim wherever he/she is so long as he/she calls for revival individually or as a society of Islam as a complete way of life! This is inevitable because the struggle between truth and falsehood in origin dates back to the creation of man, life and universe and will continue to the Day of Judgment. As for what is being witnessed in this century and the one before it, there exist a tough struggle between Islam as a divine ideology and corrupt Western Capitalist ideology originating from a weak limited human mind. This struggle continues to the extent that Capitalism, which is sponsored and advocated for worldwide by the United States and her allies via slogans such as Freedom, Democracy, Free Market etc.; has failed to contain the euphoria of change by a just Islamic ideology, having witnessed the failure of Capitalism to take charge of human lives world over. Due to such struggle, America and her allies have established legislation, styles and policies which aim at stopping or blocking the speed of those demanding for an Islamic ideological change; consequently, among the policies is war on terror, war on radicalization, etc. These styles and policies have categorized Muslims into groups; those who accept secularism as the basis of freedom that gave birth to gayism, fornication, alcoholism, fraudulent democratic elections, etc., as ‘moderate’ Muslims and those who reject all that by abiding by their Islam individually or collectively as a society and call for it as a complete way of life, strategizing for reestablishing the Islamic state, Khilafah on the way of Prophethood to take care of affairs of mankind and proceed in accordance with Qur’an, Sunnah, Consensus of Companions (ijma’ as-Sahabah) and analogy (Qiyas) as ‘radical’ Muslims.
Here in Kenya among the legislation, styles and policies passed by the government are:
- Prevention of Terrorism Act 30 of 2012”
- Security Laws (Amendment) Act, 2014”
- National Strategy to Counter Violent Extremism
- Special envoy who is also the head of Counter Violent Extremism and Ant-Terror Police Unit in Kenya attended the 16thInternational Conference organized by International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) – 13 September, 2016, at Sharon Hotel, Herzliya ‘Israel’
From this legislation, styles or policies, there arise various injustices against the Muslim Ummah worldwide in general and Kenya in particular. It is so sad seeing what faces Muslims in Syria, Palestine, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Iraq, Burma, Yemen, etc. all undergo difficult times under the curtain of ‘campaign against radicalism’ spearheaded worldwide where countries that have accepted to be used in this dangerous campaign are given billions of shillings including Kenya which up to now she has received Ksh. 20 billion for the war against terror and radicalism!
These atrocities face Muslims but surprisingly the media, majority of which is owned by tycoons who conspire with the incumbent governments together with the Western powers, ensure that they create a conducive environment to justify the killings of Muslims while congratulating and praising officials and institutions tasked with fighting terrorism for their good work! It is also used to create an opinion that is concurrent with recommendations of media owners. That is why before even investigations are carried out you will hear the media giving out flimsy statements saying “a terrorist has bombed a certain area” or “a terror act has been executed” as long as the suspect is a Muslim!
Your brothers in Hizb ut-Tahrir Kenya inform you not to despair for what the disbelievers conspire against us.
وَيَمْكُرُونَ وَيَمْكُرُ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَ
“And they are planning and Allah is planning but indeed Allah is the best planner”
[Surah Al-Anfal 8:30]
Indeed, our reputation and honor is with Islam as an ideology and none is supposed to dictate to us on our Islam except Allah (swt);
“Today I have completed your deen and I have perfected my bounty on you and I am contented that Islam be your way of life” [Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:3]
Oh! Muslims:
It is an obligation from Allah (swt) to stick to Islam fully and not embrace the Islam being championed by the West based on their Kufr viewpoint of compromise which emanate from the belief of separation of religion and life. Pure Islam is from Allah (swt) and He is contented with it on us contrary to the West who despise it and wage war of words and actions on the same.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ادْخُلُوا فِي السِّلْمِ كَافَّةً
“O you who have believed, enter into Islam completely [and perfectly]”
[Surah Al-Baqara:208]
Our differences in terms of groups and schools of thought should not lead us into falling into the trap laid by the West in the name of Radical Muslim and Moderate Muslim. This is poison which if we are to consume then without doubt we shall find ourselves in conflicts that may even lead to fighting amongst ourselves of which is the goal of the West which they are working up on day and night considering the strength of Islam and Muslims lies in their Unity and Togetherness.
Head of terrorists in the war on radicalization and terrorism are the US and ‘Israel’ who are openly seeing to target the Muslims and Islam in this war considering the International Conferences held and organized by ‘Israel’ and funded heavily in terms of finances and policies to realize the same by the US.
We advise Muslims and anyone who love justice that we should not remain silent when these incidents happen rather we should condemn them in the strongest terms possible without fearing blame. It is also not enough to only wait for political leaders or religious scholars to speak on our behalf as it is clear to us that they have compromised their responsibilities. Having nothing to say to defend the Muslim Ummah from injustices, which itself is a fault, they have resorted to reckless condemnations of suspects without concrete evidence of their involvement. They do all this with no other motive but showing their loyalty and sycophancy to the governments to secure their interests or safeguard them. This became very clear in the recent incidents of arbitrary arrests being carried out against Muslims including women and children who sometime they end up missing. To relieve ourselves from this subjugation, it is inevitable for us to work in the call for the resumption of the Islamic way of life via the reestablishment of the Islamic Khilafah state. Killings, persecutions in the tyrants’ prisons etc. should not deter us rather we should look at them as tests from Allah (swt) full of rewards top of which is the paradise for those who have a highest degree of patience. We should not be skeptical of our religious prophecy of the return of our shield, the Khilafah on the way of Prophet Hood:
“Allah has promised those who believe and do good deeds that indeed he will make the khaleefahs on earth the same way he made khaleefahs those before them, and he will establish for them their deen which he is contented with and he will change for them peace after their fear. They will worship me and associate none with me and whoever disbelieves afterwards they are the transgressors.” [Surah An-Nur 24:55]
