Ar-Rasul ﷺ established a single Islamic society one that was firmly united, both intellectually and emotionally.
This unity encompassed the entire Ummah: from the ruler, the Khalifah,to the ordinary citizen. Allah ﷻ says:
“Indeed this,your Ummah,is one Ummah,and I am your Lord,so worship Me.”
Al-Anbiyaa: 92
In another verse, ALlahﷻ emphasizes the importance of preserving this unity:
“And obey ALlah and His Messenger, and do not dispute, lest you lose courage and your strength depart; and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.”
Al-Anfaal: 46
Ar-Rasul ﷺ illustrated this unity with two powerful examples:
1) The first example:
The Prophet ﷺ likened the believers to a solid building, whose parts support each other:
“The believer to another believer is like a building whose parts support one another,”.And he intertwined his fingers.
Narrated by Al-Bukhari
2) The second example:
He compared the believers to a single body. When one part is in pain, the entire body reacts with sleeplessness and fever:
“The example of the believers in their mutual love, mercy, and compassion is like a single body: when one part suffers, the whole body responds with sleeplessness and fever.”
Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim
THE CURRENT STATE OF THE MUSLIMS
In complete contrast to what was originally established and intended to continue,Muslims today are fragmented in every region.
Even though all admit that there should be no political vacuum or division among them one that obstructs their unity they also collectively acknowledge that their enemies, especially the Western colonial powers, are the architects of this vacuum which broke their unity.
This was executed through conspiracies such as the dismantling of the Ottoman Khilafah and the division of Muslim lands with artificial borders drawn by the colonialists, like the Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916.
It is not only the colonialists who have widened this vacuum, but also more dangerously the collaborating puppet rulers who govern oppressively without Islamic rule. They are the root and perpetuators of this grave condition.
WHAT IS THE POLITICAL VACUUM?
A political vacuum is a condition where there is no clear or effective government or political system.
The absence of stable, central leadership and unified authority creates a leadership void.
CONSEQUENCES OF THE POLITICAL VACUUM
- Such a vacuum often leads to confusion and chaos, such as:
- A lack of stability as in Somalia
- Suspicion and internal conflict as in Libya
- The collapse of state institutions as in Iraq
- And internal royal disputes in other Muslim countries
Toxic ideologies like tribalism and nationalism are promoted among Muslims. These ideologies poisonous barriers implanted by disbelieving colonizers have prevented Muslims, despite having spiritual and material capabilities, from defending their resources or protecting their brothers when attacked, such as in the case of Palestine. Each country prioritizes the interests of its colonial master through its installed puppet regimes.
External invasions by colonial aggressor states intensify,as they are given unchallenged opportunities to invade, spread corrupt ideas and foreign cultures.
Colonial powers race to fill this political vacuum or manipulate the outcomes of attempts to fill it. Each strives to install a puppet ruler to serve their interests.
Additionally, the vacuum provides golden opportunities for colonizers to loot resources and raw materials. As we witness in the Muslim world.
This is the reality across the globe, especially in Muslim countries and Africa, where resources have become bonuses for colonizers.
All of this leads to backwardness in all aspects of life.
This situation has plagued the Muslims ever since the destruction of their State on 3rd March 1924 in Turkey, betrayal fueled by France through its agent Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. That collaboration left the Ummah orphaned, stripped of its mother:its Khilafah.
The Khilafah was their shield, protecting them from both physical and intellectual invasions. It also greatly contributed to the progress and advancement witnessed under its governance.
This is in stark contrast to the cultural, intellectual and emotional stagnation Muslims now suffer from after being fragmented into over 50 mini-states,each with its own agenda, ruling system and weak alliances under colonial influence.
These states strive harder to please the colonizers than to please ALlah ﷻ and Ar-Rasul ﷺ by following their guidance.
THE FUTURE OF THE MUSLIM UMMAH
The liberation of Muslims does not depend on the help of colonizers! Nor on the weak directives of their puppet rulers in the Muslim lands. True liberation which will bring success and development lies in uprooting these agents.
And replacing them with a Khalifah who will unite all Muslim lands under the true banner of geine Tawheed:not merely a symbol; by removing the political vacuum built upon false borders and inferior nationalist and tribal emotions.
This will guarantee the restoration of unity as established by Ar-Rasul ﷺ.The righteous predecessors were aware of this truth and advised us accordingly.
Umar ibn Al-Khattab (ra) said:
“Indeed,we were the most humiliated of people, but ALlah ﷻ honoured us with Islam. If we ever seek honour through anything other than what ALlah ﷻ honoured us with, ALlah ﷻ will surely humiliate us.”
And Imam Malik ibn Anas, the Imam of Madinah, concluded with the prescription for success:
“The latter part of this Ummah will never be rectified except by that which rectified its beginning.”
