Introduction of Bible Study Guide is Not a Solution to the Fight on Corruption in Kenya!

On Wednesday 26 September 2018, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) led by its chairman Eliud Wabukala (Retired Cardinal; the Bishop of Anglican Church) in collaboration with Inter-religious sector, unveiled the Bible study guide titled ‘Integrity: A weapon against Corruption.’ The guide is expected to be used by individuals or groups that are dealing with corruption matters. The EACC said, “The Bible Study Guide is intended to help Kenyans interact with the Bible and discover God’s position on corruption and his direction on living a corruption free life. Regardless of your status in the society, you can make a difference. The Guide inspires us to act and to believe our country can be free from corruption. The fight against corruption can be won but everyone must commit to live a life that enhances the virtues of integrity, justice, patriotism and love for one another.” (The Star, 26/09/2018)

Eliud Wabukala joined the EACC on 23 July 2017 as the third chairperson after the resignation of Phillip Kinisu – August 2016 and before him the resignation of Mumo Matemo – May 2015. They resigned on corruption allegations in one way or the other! Since inception of EACC it has become like a dark hole in which every Chair and Commissioners fall into on allegations of corruption. Consequently, the introduction of this guide is a clear indication that EACC has failed to combat corruption and hence it has reached the climax and has now despaired. In order to understand that, consider the following points:

First: Kenya is a secular country (the state has been detached from religion/religion has no contribution in government). Its ideology is capitalism anchored on secularism. The capitalist economic system influences the running of the government to the extent that the capitalists (owners of capital) are the influential. Therefore, Kenya like any other nation in the world legislate laws including the constitution by their own limited minds in order to organize how to run the affairs of life in general. The laws are established on guaranteeing four types of freedoms: Freedom of Worship, Freedom of Expression, Freedom of Ownership and Personal Freedom. From the four freedoms, we find the democratic ruling system, which grants man sovereignty to run his affairs including legislating laws etc.

Second: In the capitalist secular creed perspective, life is established on Personal Freedom or in other words do as you wish anytime you wish with no regard to anyone provided you do not violate on the Personal Freedom of the other. The purpose of life is to own the highest level of wealth as much possible and happiness/stability is to satisfy/attain the optimum level of sensual gratification. Therefore, people always strive to earn wealth in whichever way and spend any how they like!

Third: Relationships among people are established on competition to own wealth and that the measure of one’s success is determined by the quantity of wealth he has and thus his social influence/contribution depends on the wealth he owns. Consequently, the measure of actions is established on interest/benefit/harm!

The above points indicate by 100% that the origin of corruption was the secular creed and its capitalist ideology and that its existence and execution is the root of corruption. The Commission and all other institutions locally and globally are established on that corruption. Despite Kenya being a majority Christian country, nevertheless Christianity has no place in running of the government. Even if Christianity was to be given a chance it would not be able to take care of people/nation because it is only a spiritually inclined religion devoid of ideological perspective (solutions to all problems facing mankind political, economic, social etc.) That is why there exist also those who renounce religion in the country e.g. the Association of Atheists in Kenya (AIK) who are also recognized and given a chance in the society.

The radical solution lies with the Islamic ideology established on the creed of ‘There is No Deity Worthy of True Worship but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.’ This creed has no room for Freedom and that man is ‘a slave of Allah.’ Consequently, man has to totally abide by the commands and prohibitions of Allah, and his criterion should always remain to be halal and haram. Islam is the only ideology endorsed by Allah:

إِنَّ الدِّيْنَ عِنْدَ اللهِ الإِسْلاَمُ

Behold, the only [true] Deen (ideology) in the sight of Allah is Islam.

[Aali-Imran: 19]

And Islam is the only ideology that Muhammad (saw) the last Prophet came with and every man is obliged to submit to:

وَماَ أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلاَّ رَحْمَةً لِّلعَالَمِيْنَ

And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.

[Al-Anbiyaa: 107]

It is required that Islam comprehensively rules people’s lives and this is not possible without an Islamic Khilafah State. Khilafah established upon the Methodology of Prophethood only will be able to emancipate mankind by uprooting and burning the roots of corruption of the capitalist ideology and its secular creed. And plant in its place the Islamic ideology and its pure creed emanating from the Creator of man, life and universe. It will completely organize for man through its pure Islamic systems including its economical, social, political, educational system etc. All being fully implemented through piety achieved after acquiring the Islamic identity (Shaksiyatul Islam) guaranteed by the Khilafah. While man will be cultured to sanctify and fear Allah and to respect his colleagues contrary to the situation today where man only fears his fellow men. Therefore, the purpose of life in Islam is to search for the pleasure of Allah and all the endeavors (actions) in life are established on that purpose alone. Its eventuality is that the worldly life has an end which is Death and then resurrection which will result to accountability for everyone’s actions and pronouncement of Judgment of either the eternal life in Paradise or Hell.

In conclusion, it should not be understood that should a Quran study guide be introduced contrary to the Bible, may be the solution to corruption in Kenya as Islam is an ideology. No! Quran requires full implementation under the Islamic Khilafah State and not in these secular capitalist states controlled by western colonialists and their agent rulers. Therefore, it is required of all mankind especially Muslims to strive in calling for the resumption (re-establishment) of this Islamic State which currently is non-existent in the world since its abolition on the 3rd of March 1924.
