So That The Quran Doesn’t Become A Proof Against Us.
These are 10 bad characters in the ones who recites the Quran without working for it.
The one who memorises the Quran and recites the Quran without working for it so that it rules, possesses these dangerous characters:
1-He doesn’t take the Quran by determination and goes against the purpose of Allah revealing the message:
Al Qurtubiy rh says in explanation of the words of Allah SWT:
{خذوا ما آتيناكم بقوة}
(Take by determination what we have given you)
This is the purpose of sending down books,to work according to the books and not only reciting them by the tongue with a beautiful voice…
2-He discards the Quran:
Al Qurtubiy says:… without doubt discarding the Quran according to what Assha’biy and ibnu Uyaynah say,are the words of Allah SWT:
(وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمۡ رَسُولࣱ مِّنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقࣱ لِّمَا مَعَهُمۡ نَبَذَ فَرِیقࣱ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِینَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ كِتَـٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَاۤءَ ظُهُورِهِمۡ كَأَنَّهُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ)
{And when a messenger from Allah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained].}[Surah Al-Baqarah 101]
3-He hasn’t understood the Quran:
Shaykhul Islam ibn Taymiyah rh says in his explanation of the words of Allah SWT:
وَمِنۡهُمۡ أُمِّيُّونَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ إِلَّآ أَمَانِيَّ وَإِنۡ هُمۡ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ
{And among them are unlettered ones who do not know the Scripture except in wishful thinking, but they are only assuming.}[Surah Al-Baqarah 78]
This character is for the one who doesn’t understand the words of Allah and work upon them,but he is sufficed by just reciting the Quran only.
4-He deserts the Quran:
Ibnul Qayyim mentions a number of ways of deserting the Quran:
Deserting it from implementation and ruling with it upon the fundamentals of the religion and its branches.
-Al Fawaaid of ibn Al Qayyim(82/1)
5-He neither contemplate on the Quran nor implements the purpose of the Qurans revelation:
Hasan al Basri rh says: The Quran was sent down so that it is contemplated upon and implemented.
-Madarij as Salikin(485/1)
6-He goes against the ways of the pious salaf in regards of the Quran.
Ibn Mas’ud says: We had hard times in memorising its words(alfadh)-and was easier for us working for the Quran,and surely the ones who came after us it has become easier for them to memorize the Quran and hard for them to implement it.

7-He doesn’t recite it as it is supposed to:
Ibn Kathir rh narrates from ibn Mas’ud r.a that he said: “I swear by The One in whose hands my soul is! Reciting the Quran as it is supposed to is making halal what it has made halal and prohibiting what it has made haram…”
-Tafsir ibn Kathir rh(4003/1)
and Ash-Shawkani says;
يتلونه:(means)They implement what is in the Quran.
-Fat’hul Qadir (135/1)
8- He becomes of the ones Allah mentioned in His verse:
مَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ حُمِّلُواْ ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةَ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَحۡمِلُوهَا كَمَثَلِ ٱلۡحِمَارِ يَحۡمِلُ أَسۡفَارَۢاۚ بِئۡسَ مَثَلُ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
{The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey…}
[Surah Al-Jumu’ah 5]
They didn’t take it on means they didn’t work for the Torah despite it being in their hands,so they were compared to the donkey carrying books and doesn’t get anything from the books except its heaviness that doest benefit it.

9- He desrves the dua of the Prophet pbuh (ثكلتك أمك) May your mother lose you to death:
It is narrated from Ziyad bin Labid,that The Prophet pbuh mentioned something and said: (That is when there will be no knowledge,) so I said: “Messenger of Allah,how will the knowledge get lost? While we recite the Quran,and we will teach it to our children,and our children will teach it to their children and so on till the day of judgement? ” He pbuh said: (May your mother lose you to death oh Ziyad! Despite that I expect you are among the wise and knowledgeable among the people of Madinah, aren’t these Jews and Christians reading the Torah and Injeel but dont implement anything that is therein?)

10- The Quran will be a proof against him:
The Prophet pbuh says: (..and The Quran is either a proof for or against you)
-Muslim.
The meaning is straight,its either you benefit from the Quran when reciting it and implement it or else it becomes a proof against you.
-Sharh an Nawawi in Muslim.
Oh Allah Make us among those who use their age and youth working for the implementation of the Quran and establishing its state,and raising its flag very soon.
These are clear evidences for every person.
