Demonstrations: A Right that will Never Deliver Justice under Corrupt Capitalist System and its Democratic Political Framework

Press Release

The ongoing protests in the country which has so far claimed the lives of innocent Kenyans and injured more has raised the public concerns. In this regard, we in Hizb ut Tahrir / Kenya are obliged to highlight the following:

The political friction between the current regime and the opposition has nothing to do with the plight of the people. The economic hardships are ever capitalized by the political elites for their own political goals. Neither, the ruling party under the so-called bottom-up approach, nor the opposition who are against high taxation will liberate the people from the shackles of Liberal Capitalist Economic Ideology.

We reiterate the current economic problems and adopted solutions are not unique to Kenya but are global phenomena. Taxation, subsidizing of production and consumptions, borrowing and increase of base interest rate by the Central banks have accelerated the spread of economic cancer across the globe. These capitalist solutions increase inflation, unemployment, distort capital market and discourage production.

Finally we say, Islam, the mercy from the Creator of man, life and universe, stands as historical prove of how humanity was elevated from the shackles of enslavement of usury and political entities of their times to high functional society that eradicated poverty and made livelihood easily attainable. Likewise, Islam under the Khilafah (Caliphate) which will be soon established in one Muslim countries upon the method of the Prophethood but will liberate mankind and become the main facilitator to honorable livelihood.
